Lea Hoche
At the beginning, a textile design project, started at the Ateliers de Sèvres, where LéA reinterprets the stripes of the beach huts, and creates a deconstructed shirt. But she quickly escapes it and her design takes shape on paper. She draws with a loose and joyful hand. She explores her inner world and captures sensations.
Léa works mainly with PosCA markers, a black line, the white of the paper and primary colors. Red, Blue, Yellow enter the dance in line or flat. Her influences, Cocteau, Matisse, Picasso, Calder, their poetry, abstraction, a certain way of looking at Humanity.
For her first Solo Show, we have chosen a series of 10 drawings, portraits and faces-landscapes. Because LéA does not draw photographic portraits. She draws us as she feels us: our blurred faces, our joys, our inner feelings ... a look made of intimacy and sensuality.
Titled, the spice of life! Borrowed from Françoise Héritier *, this intimate and sensual meditation perfectly suits LéA in her quest to capture the emotions that sometimes pass through us without warning and overwhelm us: moments imbued with memories, tiny little things that seem unimportant , joys, anger ...
The portrait series is accompanied by a series of "Costumes" to show her path, from textile design, to emotional landscapes developed more recently. For the occasion LéA retraced her steps and created 2 painted shirts.
LéA is also involved in the Artemisae collective in order to support the trajectory of young women artists.
